Projects Overview

Flass

Flass is built in an Italian style and was erected in 1851 for Wilkinson Dent Esq. The limestone facing was brought from Orton Scar by Cumbria Stone Quarries for the mansion. In 1860 the Parkins of Crosby Ravensworth - stonemasons for Cumbria Stone Quarries, also built the bridge across the Lyvennet in Maulds Meaburn for the Dent family at a cost of £552 to shorten Wilkinson's journey to church. The building is grade one star listed.

At the present time Flass is privately owned, In September 2004 Tectonic started work started on the Sandblasting and restoration of the outside of the building and this is shown on the recent views of the rear of the building by the photographs on this page.

The access to the exterior was undertaken by a S84 Genie Boom to save costs on scaffolding.
